We are seeking a Reward Consultant to join the Royal London Reward and Performance team on a permanent basis in London.
Reporting to the Performance and Reward Director, you will play a key role in supporting the Group Reward strategy by developing and managing reward strategies and processes across Compensation, Benefits, Executive Remuneration, and regulatory requirements.
This role involves providing expert advice to senior leaders, People Partners and stakeholders on all aspects of Reward and Performance, including Asset Management remuneration and regulatory compliance and reporting.
You will contribute to the design and delivery of reward initiatives, offering analytical insight and ensuring effective implementation. Your responsibilities will include consideration of operational reward aspects relating to specialist areas of support.
About the role
- Acts as a subject matter expert on Reward (including benefits) and Performance, with broad People function knowledge.
- Provides consultancy and guidance on reward matters across designated business areas.
- Advises colleagues at all levels to enhance engagement and understanding of total reward offerings.
- Designs and delivers training on reward and performance processes to People Leaders and Senior Leaders in aligned business areas.
- Carry out market benchmarking, including supporting the role evaluation process and identification of appropriate market data.
- Collaborates on cost-effective reward strategies to attract, retain, and motivate talent.
- Demonstrates ownership of relevant reward processes to support initiatives and data-driven decisions.
- Works closely with the Systems & MI team to ensure robust data insights.
- Conducts market competitiveness analyses on reward and benefits.
- Works as part of the Reward team to lead key cyclical processes, including:
- Annual pay and bonus reviews
- Benefits renewals and flexible benefits window
- Deferred remuneration management
- Executive bonus buyouts and leaver terms
- Annual role benchmarking
- Inputs for DRR, policy disclosures, and regulatory submissions
- Managing MRT identification and communications under regulatory regimes (e.g., SII, UCITS V, IFPR, AIFMD, MiFID II)
About you
- Expert knowledge of Reward principles and understanding of market practice.
- Previous experience working in a professional human resources environment and experience managing and contributing to the development of Reward programmes.
- Graduate or equivalent, preferably CIPD qualified or equivalent Reward Professional qualification.
- Regulatory knowledge and understanding of executive renumeration and deferred compensation having previously run annual reward cycles or deferred renumeration processes.
- Knowledge and experience within a Financial Services, Asset Management or regulatory environment.
- High level of analytical skills, numeracy and literacy.
- Ability to communicate complicated concepts in a concise way to a wide range of people.
- Engaging with high level of consulting skills.
- Ability to be able to separate the principle from the process.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Success Factors is desireable.
