Job Description

Job Title: Scrum Master 

Contract Type: Permanent 

Location: Edinburgh (Preference) 

Hybrid Working Style: 50% from home / 50% office based

Royal London’s Group Data & AI Office is at the heart of how we use data to power better decision making across the business. We drive data transformation, set governance standards, and help teams unlock value through effective, insight led delivery. As we expand our data and AI capabilities, we're looking for a Scrum Master who can bring energy, structure, and coaching to a busy hybrid project/agile environment. 

 

The Role 

As a Scrum Master, you’ll guide the team toward high performance delivery and smooth, predictable ways of working. You’ll simplify complexity, unlock value, and foster continuous improvement. 

You will: 

  • Champion Agile practices and build capability across the team through coaching and guidance. 

  • Work with the team & Product Owner to plan and deliver projects on time, accelerating business benefits. 

  • Drive cross functional collaboration to reduce complexity and competing priorities. 

  • Track and communicate delivery performance using clear sprint metrics and milestones. 

  • Support value-based prioritisation of the backlog to maximise outcomes. 

  • Help the team deliver high value products while reducing waste and technical debt. 

  • Remove impediments and tackle wider systemic issues with key stakeholders. 

  • Ensure Royal London teams and 3rdparty partners collaborate iteratively and effectively.

About You 

We’re looking for a Scrum Master who brings confidence, clarity and a genuine passion for enabling teams to do their best work. 

You’ll bring: 

  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, ceremonies and value driven delivery. 

  • The ability to coach individuals, resolve conflict, and build positive team culture. 

  • Experience guiding teams toward self-organisation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

  • A pragmatic approach to hybrid project/agile environments. 

  • (Nice to have) A background in Data or Technology — helpful for understanding data lifecycle and route to live processes.
