Job Title: Senior Strategy Manager

Contract Type:  12 months FTC

Location: London, Edinburgh, or Alderley Park 

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Closing date: 1st December 2025

 

Royal London Group have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Strategy Manager to join the Group Strategy team.

We are a dynamic and collaborative team with a direct influence on the future of Royal London as a purpose-led and outcomes focussed mutual. We are part of the CEO office. We inform and influence strategic decisions, typically working with senior leaders and subject matter experts across the business to make this happen. You will play an exciting and important role in supporting Royal London to achieve its Purpose and deliver its strategy.

About the role

 

  • Lead strategy projects, working with a cross-functional group of subject matter experts.
  • Work closely with Research and Insight teams to ensure strategic recommendations are supported by robust insight.
  • Use strategy tools and frameworks to support strategic thinking and effective challenge.
  • Make strategic recommendations to the Executive and Board, with clear alignment to our Purpose.
  • Coach other members of the team to develop their understanding of Royal London, the external environment, and strategic processes.
  • Support business areas with local strategy projects, providing expertise as required.
  • Manage aspects of internal processes, including the annual strategy review, strategic risk management, strategy execution, and strategy communication to colleagues across the business.

 

About you

 

  • Proven experience in strategy development and execution.
  • Strong interest in and ability to understand customer needs and expectations, and market trends, and to translate this into what it means for Royal London.
  • Intellectual curiosity and experience using data and insight to inform strategic thinking and recommendations.
  • Ability to write and articulate key issues and recommendations in a concise and compelling way.
  • A desire to work for a truly purpose-driven organisation and alignment to the Spirit of Royal London values - we achieve, we are trustworthy, we are empowered, we collaborate.
  • Strong understanding of the risk management framework.
  • Experience working in Financial Services and/or Consulting, and experience in the long-term savings, insurance and asset management industry would be beneficial.
