Tell us a little bit about yourself, Chloe.

I joined Police Mutual as an HR Administrator in September 2014. They were acquired by Royal London in 2020 and over the last eight years I have developed and grown my HR career.

I was one of the HR Business Partners who supported the HR workstreams including the harmonisation of terms and conditions, integration of colleagues onto the Royal London HR system and their TUPE transfer into Royal London. In 2021 I secured a permanent role in the People Partner team and moved into a Lead People Partner role on a secondment until the end of February 2023.

What does your job involve day-to-day?

In the People Team our customers are primarily our colleagues. Our main focus is always about how we support them, while delivering against our Purpose and strategy.

Every day can be quite different as we deal with a range of activities. From supporting the Executive and Senior Leadership Team to deliver their People objectives, through to supporting on the people element of projects and change initiatives, not only within the People Team but also across the business. As a People Leader it’s important for me that I have time with my team to support, coach and develop them.

How do you help Royal London to fulfil its Purpose?

Everything that we do in the People Team is to enable the business to deliver against our Purpose. While we may not have direct contact with Royal London customers, everything that we do to support colleagues in some way supports the business to achieve our Purpose.

I’m really lucky to have such a supportive team who are all passionate about what they do, the service that they deliver and are all working towards the same goals and outcomes.

Tell us why you’re proud to work at Royal London.

Royal London is a strong brand with a strong Purpose. The values are closely aligned to my personal values.
