You will lead the governance, oversight and continuous improvement of Royal London’s technology recovery capability, helping ensure our critical services can recover effectively when disruption occurs.

About the role

As Disaster Recovery and Technology Resilience Manager, you will provide independent challenge and assurance across infrastructure, technology and critical service areas. You will lead two Disaster Recovery Planners, delivered through a strategic partner arrangement, and coordinate recovery planning and testing across technology teams.

You will hold teams accountable for maintaining effective, documented and supportable recovery arrangements. A key part of the role will be orchestrating enterprise-wide exercises, assessing readiness against recovery objectives and turning lessons learned into measurable improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own and maintain the Disaster Recovery Framework, standards, governance processes and reporting.
  • Lead the annual disaster recovery testing programme, including component, integrated and enterprise-wide exercises.
  • Design scenario-based tests covering interconnected technology services and operational resilience objectives.
  • Provide oversight and constructive challenge on recovery strategies, plans, targets and test outcomes.
  • Track remediation arising from exercises, incidents, audits and assurance reviews.
  • Report recovery readiness, key risks and improvement activity to senior leaders and governance forums.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Cloud, Architecture, Service Management and Operational Resilience teams.

About you

  • Strong experience in disaster recovery, technology resilience, business continuity or operational resilience.
  • Experience working in a governance, oversight or assurance role within a complex technology environment.
  • A proven track record of designing and leading disaster recovery tests and simulation exercises.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure environments spanning cloud, networks, storage and end-user technologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders and hold teams accountable.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers or strategic service partners.
  • Knowledge of UK financial services expectations for operational and technology resilience.

If you feel you’d be a great fit for Royal London but don’t meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.
