This is a high-impact opportunity within Group Finance’s Finance Systems team at Alderley Park. You will manage and evolve the Group Finance Reconciliation and Cash Matching suite of products, helping to streamline end-to-end finance system processes across accounting, transactional and banking processes, driving automation to ensure a smooth flow of data through our architecture. You’ll provide first-line support to users, contribute to projects across Royal London, and help us meet regulatory and internal reporting needs.
About the role
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of AutoRek change and maintenance, managing priorities, delivery plans, ownership, risks, issues, dependencies and progress reporting.
- Translate finance, reconciliation and regulatory requirements into clear system specifications, coordinating design, build, testing, deployment, documentation and adoption.
- Manage the AutoRek change backlog and continuous improvement pipeline, using user feedback, incidents, controls and performance information to prioritise practical improvements and increased automation.
- Act as the lead point of contact for AutoRek change, bringing together Finance, Operations, Technology, suppliers and project teams while maintaining effective governance, testing evidence, data integrity, auditability and release control.
About you
- Proven experience leading system change, releases or continuous improvement for business-critical reconciliation, finance or data platforms; experience of AutoRek would be advantageous.
- Financial-services industry experience, ideally within life insurance, pensions, investments, banking or another regulated sector, with an understanding of risk, controls, audit requirements and reliable financial data.
- A strong accounting background gained through a finance role, accounting qualification or equivalent practical experience, including knowledge of journals, ledgers, reconciliations, financial controls and the profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Ability to translate accounting, reconciliation and regulatory requirements into clear AutoRek requirements, test scenarios and controlled production changes.
- Sufficient technical understanding of SQL, databases, data flows, interfaces, automation and reporting tools to challenge designs, guide investigations and work effectively with technical teams.
- A confident, collaborative delivery leader who can engage senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities, solve problems and lead change through structured Agile or Waterfall delivery and change-control processes.
