Contract type: Permanent
Location: Alderley Park
Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based
Closing date: 20th November 2026
We’re looking for an experienced Strategic Workforce Planning leader to shape and lead our resource planning capability across Royal London’s Chief Operating Office (COO).
This is a senior, strategic role requiring deep workforce planning expertise, ideally gained within technology and change environments. You’ll take a broad view of our workforce, spanning permanent colleagues, contingent resource, managed service providers and outsourced partners, using detailed workforce data to understand future demand and develop clear, evidence-based plans.
This isn’t a traditional operational or real-time workforce planning role. We’re looking for someone who can combine technical workforce planning expertise with strategic leadership, getting into the detail behind complex workforce plans and translating that information into a compelling strategy and direction for senior stakeholders.
You’ll inherit an established framework and operating rhythm, but there is significant opportunity to develop and improve the capability further. You’ll need to be comfortable operating through uncertainty and change, building workforce plans against an evolving organisational landscape and confidently setting direction.

- The ability to translate workforce data into a clear strategy, vision and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Experience leading, developing and providing technical direction to experienced workforce planning professionals.
- Confidence operating in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments, adapting workforce plans as organisational priorities evolve.

- Strong capability in workforce planning, data analysis, reporting and business intelligence tools.
- Experience driving improvements to workforce planning frameworks, processes and ways of working.
