Job Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Test Analyst to join one of our squads or projects within the Protection Tribe. In this role, you’ll help deliver high-quality new features, improvements and change across the applications owned by your squad.
You’ll plan, estimate and carry out testing activity across the delivery lifecycle, including static testing, technical analysis, manual and automated test case preparation, defect management and quality reporting. You’ll work closely with testers, engineers, analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements, identify risks, create robust test coverage and provide clear insight on quality and readiness.
You’ll also help us move testing forward by reviewing and improving our existing automation approach, strengthening reusable test assets and influencing how we test in the future.
About the role
- Plan, estimate and carry out testing activity across new features, improvements and project change within the Protection Tribe.
- Analyse functional and non-functional requirements to define test conditions, scenarios and coverage.
- Carry out static testing and technical analysis to identify risks, gaps and quality considerations early.
- Design, build and execute manual and automated test cases, reusable regression packs and supporting test materials.
- Create and maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, results and defects.
- Identify test data, environment, resource and tooling requirements to support planned testing activity.
- Record, triage and manage defects through to resolution, providing clear evidence and impact assessment.
- Report on test progress, quality, risks and readiness using agreed methods, standards and metrics.
- Review and improve existing automation approaches, helping influence how testing is delivered in future.
- Support and mentor trainees and test analysts, sharing good practice and contributing to testing capability across the team.
About you
- Proven experience in software testing across the delivery lifecycle, including early test design, validation and reporting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain risks, issues and quality insight clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and a motivation to grow skills and improve how we test.
- Ability to manage your own workload and provide clear testing approaches, estimates and progress updates.
- Strong understanding of functional and non-functional testing techniques, including regression, performance, reliability and usability testing.
- Experience creating test cases, maintaining traceability and documenting outcomes to agreed quality standards.
- Hands-on experience with test management, defect tracking and automated testing tools, with the judgement to identify where automation adds value.
- Test automation experience, ideally including tools such as Playwright, ReadyAPI or TestComplete.
- Experience using Azure DevOps to manage testing activity, defects, evidence and reporting.
- Ability to mentor trainees and test analysts, sharing knowledge and supporting development across the team.
- Protection domain experience would be beneficial, particularly experience of ALIS or related Protection applications.
Even if you don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply. We are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and your unique experiences and perspectives could be a great addition to our team.
