About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Operations Manager to join our Finance team at Royal London Ireland.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead the day-to-day Finance Operations function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and well-controlled financial processes across the business.
This is a broad and varied role involving oversight of daily banking, accounts payable, broker administration, onboarding and debt management. You will identify opportunities to improve and automate processes, maintain strong financial controls and ensure our operational processes remain robust following significant business or system changes.
You will also lead and develop colleagues within the team, providing coaching, supervision and support to help them perform at their best.

As part of a collaborative Finance team, you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience and contribute to other areas of Finance while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the wider business.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee Finance Operations processes, including daily banking and accounts payable.
- Manage broker administration, onboarding, debt management and other broker-related processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements, efficiencies and automation across Finance Operations and Agency.
- Lead, coach and develop colleagues, ensuring the effective use of resources across the team.
- Provide accurate information to support company tax returns.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for commissions, supporting stakeholders and resolving complex queries.
- Ensure Finance Operations processes remain appropriate and robust following system upgrades, migrations, new product launches and other significant changes.
- Own and maintain end-to-end documentation covering key finance processes, controls, procedures and operating models.
- Support the external audit process as required.
- Maintain strong financial controls and governance within a controlled environment.
- Contribute to wider Finance activities and initiatives as required.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified accountant with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience.
- Knowledgeable about Finance Operations within financial services. Experience within life insurance or pensions would be particularly beneficial.
- Highly accurate, with excellent attention to detail.
- Organised and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while working to tight deadlines.
- Proactive and improvement-focused, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An effective people leader who can coach, support and develop others.
- A confident written and verbal communicator.
- Skilled at building strong relationships with Finance colleagues, senior management and key stakeholders.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other business systems.

Our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent. We aim to pay employees fairly and competitively across all levels and roles. The base salary range for this position is:
€83,000 – €91,300
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; and qualifications. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
