Financial Accountant
At Royal London Ireland, we're looking for a talented and motivated Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant who is keen to develop their career within a leading financial services organisation while gaining exposure across a broad range of finance activities.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the business, supporting regulatory reporting requirements, delivering high-quality financial analysis and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding position offering exposure to financial reporting, management information, budgeting and forecasting, audit support and financial controls.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements and the Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR).
- Assisting with the external audit process.
- Contributing to the month-end close process, including journal postings and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Producing accurate management information and financial analysis.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Maintaining robust financial controls and governance processes.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and increased efficiency.
- Investigating reporting issues and driving solutions to enhance accuracy and effectiveness across finance.
About You
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys solving problems and is passionate about delivering high-quality work.
You'll ideally have:
- Newly qualified accountant status.
- Audit experience, with a Big 4 background considered advantageous.
- Knowledge of the financial services sector, particularly life and pensions, although this is not essential.
- Strong Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The confidence to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and senior managers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
