IT Support Analyst - Protectionㅤ

At Royal London Ireland, we're looking for an IT Support Analyst to join our Application Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong application support experience who enjoys solving technical issues, working across teams and helping deliver reliable business-critical services.

About the Role

Reporting to the Protection Support Lead, you'll act as a technical subject matter expert, supporting Operations and the wider Change & Technology function. You'll help ensure the stability, performance and continuous improvement of key business applications while building a strong understanding of the systems and infrastructure that support them.

You'll investigate technical issues, support change initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive service improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced support for business-critical applications.
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve incidents and technical issues.
  • Monitor application performance and support service stability.
  • Build relationships with Operations teams to understand business processes and system usage.
  • Develop expertise in application functionality, integrations and data flows.
  • Maintain support documentation, known issue logs and knowledge materials.
  • Build an understanding of application architecture, cloud environments and data integrations.
  • Work with infrastructure and platform teams to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Support SQL-related investigations, validation and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to environment-level changes and technical improvements.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Support project delivery, operational readiness and production releases.
  • Drive improvements to support processes and service delivery.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong technical capability, a proactive mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in application support, systems support or technical operations.
  • Strong SQL and data investigation skills.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly Azure.
  • Experience troubleshooting across application, database and infrastructure layers.
  • A structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
