What you'll be doing
As a Senior Claims Assessor, you'll take ownership of claims from start to finish, making informed and balanced decisions while delivering an excellent customer experience. You'll work closely with customers, medical professionals, reinsurers and internal colleagues to ensure claims are assessed accurately and in line with regulatory and business requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of Life, Serious Illness, Mortgage Protection and Income Protection claims.
- Assessing claims fairly, consistently and in line with company philosophy and standards.
- Communicating confidently and compassionately with customers throughout the claims journey.
- Obtaining and reviewing medical and supporting evidence to inform decision making.
- Liaising with reinsurers and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting management information and reporting requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues, sharing knowledge and contributing to team capability.
- Supporting a strong risk and compliance culture across the team
About you
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical claims expertise with a genuine passion for customer service.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience assessing protection claims within the life and pensions or insurance sector.
- Experience managing complex claims and making evidence-based decisions.
- A strong understanding of Irish regulatory requirements and the claims environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A customer-focused approach with strong empathy and professionalism.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands effectively.
- A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting less experienced colleagues.
Qualifications
You will hold at least one of the following:
- Claims Diploma
- QFA (Qualified Financial Adviser)
- APA (Accredited Product Adviser)

Our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent. We aim to pay employees fairly and competitively across all levels and roles. The base salary range for this position is:
€64,960 – €89,320
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; and qualifications. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
