Account Manager (Level 2)

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Relationship Manager to join our Strategic Partnerships team within RLAM's Client Group. This is a highly visible role focused on managing and developing relationships with some of RLAM's most significant institutional strategic partners, driving client retention, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and supporting business growth.

 

Working closely with the Head of Strategic Partnerships, you will act as a trusted partner to clients, providing exceptional relationship management, leading strategic discussions with senior stakeholders, and coordinating complex change and transition activity. You will also play a key role in supporting new product launches through seed capital negotiations and ensuring clients receive a consistently high standard of service.

 

Success in this role requires outstanding relationship-building skills, strong technical and market knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to work independently while taking ownership of a designated client portfolio. You will be motivated by delivering excellent client outcomes and helping to build enduring partnerships that support long-term business success.

 

 

About the role

 

  • Manage and develop relationships with RLAM’s institutional Strategic Partnership clients, acting as a trusted adviser and ensuring exceptional client service delivery.
  • Create and execute tailored relationship plans, maintaining regular engagement with clients and consultants to anticipate needs and deliver effective investment solutions.
  • Lead client retention activities and identify opportunities for cross-selling, upselling and securing new mandates in collaboration with Product and Investment teams.
  • Represent RLAM at trustee, committee and portfolio review meetings, delivering insightful updates and building strong senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new mandates and implementation of mandate changes, coordinating internal teams and ensuring transitions are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timelines.
  • Act as the voice of the client internally, providing market insight and feedback that helps shape RLAM’s products, services and overall client proposition.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across Front Office, Operations, Compliance, Legal and other specialist teams to deliver a seamless client experience while maintaining regulatory compliance, effective risk management and accurate record keeping.

 

 

About you

 

  • University degree or equivalent
  • IMC (or equivalent) qualified
  • Strong investment management and product knowledge
  • Proven experience in relationship management within investment management
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the UK institutional marketplace, including pensions (segregated and pooled), multi managers and investment management (including fixed income knowledge), together with experience of dealing with investment consultants
