About the role

  • Create prototypes and high-fidelity designs that solve customer and business problems.
  • Contribute to and evolve Royal London's design system, ensuring consistency and quality across products.
  • Collaborate with researchers, product managers and engineers to shape product direction and prioritise opportunities.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusive design and best practice across all customer experiences.
  • Use customer insight, data and experimentation to continuously improve digital products.
  • Support and influence stakeholders by presenting design solutions and articulating design rationale.

About you

  • Significant experience designing digital products and services within agile product teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows.
  • Strong visual design skills across typography, layout, interaction and responsive design.
  • Experience designing for web and mobile platforms, ideally across complex customer journeys.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience working with and contributing to design systems.
  • Ability to use customer insight, research and data to inform design decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions through design.
  • Experience within Financial Services or another regulated environment would be advantageous.

We'd particularly love to hear from you if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

AI & Digital Platforms

  • Delivering AI-enabled products or digital capabilities.
  • Experience working with financial industry standards such as Open Banking
  • Bringing innovative technologies into regulated environments while balancing customer, risk and regulatory considerations.

Mobile App

  • Delivering Mobile App functionality for customers
  • Supporting effective and safe deliveries as part of agile squads
  • Liaising with Development and test colleagues to drive continuous improvements to our services on Mobile Apps

While we are particularly interested in candidates with these skills, all relevant experience will be considered. Even if you don't meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply.
